Warranty terms
The terms of this warranty are issued by Tradesman Roof Racks Pty Ltd (’Tradesman‘) of 13 Clare Street Bayswater Victoria 3153. Telephone (03) 9722 5000.
Our goods are subject to guarantees that are provided under the Australian Consumer Law. The purchaser is entitled to replacement or refund as a result of major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. The purchaser is also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
The benefits given to you by Tradesman under this warranty are in addition to your other rights and remedies under a law in relation to the goods to which the warranty relates.
Tradesman may elect at its discretion to not repair or replace the defective product. In this instance, Tradesman at its option will provide a credit or refund equal to the purchase price.
Subject to the conditions of this warranty, Tradesman warrants the following products manufactured by Tradesman will be free from any manufacturing defect in materials or workmanship for the following periods from the date of purchase (each a ‘Warranty Period’):
- Limited lifetime warranty*
- 1 year for steel products*
- 3 years for zinc fabricated products*
- 5 years for Steel and Alloy Oval products*
* Not applicable for general wear and tear to external coating and finishes, discolouration, dents and colour breakdown over extended time or use.
Warranty claims
Purchases must be registered within 21 days to be eligible for warranty. This can be done by completing the warranty registration form on our website at www.tradesmanroofracks.com.au/warranty/registration
To make a warranty claim, the product concerned must be returned to the place of purchase with the original purchase receipt. No warranty claim will be processed without proof of purchase. All warranty claims must include receipt of purchase.
A warranty claim must be made within the warranty period.
The cost of returning the product to the place of purchase will be borne by the purchaser.
The claim must be issued with an authorization number from Tradesman before warranty will be actioned.
Rectification
If a defect of manufacture appear during the warrantable time period, Tradesman will, within a reasonable time of being notified of the warranty claim, repair or replace, at Tradesman’s discretion defective product or parts. Time will be given for manufacturing or rework as required by Tradesman.
Warranty Exclusions and Terms
This warranty is only applicable to the original purchaser and is not transferrable.
This warranty becomes void if:
1. Defects in materials or workmanship are:
a. Examined by the purchaser of the product before having agreed to purchase the product and that examination ought reasonably to have revealed the defect; or
b. Specifically drawn to the purchaser’s attention and noted before the purchaser agreed to continue purchasing the product;
2. The invoice clearly states customisation is not subject to warranty;
3. Incorrect fitting, removal and/or refitting, non-conformance to Tradesman fitting instructions or recommendations;
4. Fitting the product to an alternative vehicle other than the vehicle for which the product was designed originally;
5. Misuse of roof racks including removal of coated surfaces without touch up;
Conditions beyond Tradesman’s control, such as:
I. Acts of God;
II. Misuse;
III. Neglect;
IV. Attachment of accessories not supplied or recommended by Tradesman;
V. Overloading beyond recommended capacity;
VI. Evidence of incorrect or uneven loading of cargo;
VII. Incorrect fitment;
VIII. Exposure to harsh road conditions/applications that also compromise other parts of the vehicle;
IX. Poorly or loosely secured items;
X. Any consequential damages, including down time to repair or make good product.
