October 18, 2023
In this article, we show you the step by step guide on how to set up and install a Wedgetail roof rack for the Chevrolet Silverado.
The Wedgetail to suit the Chevrolet Silverado is a strong and good-looking addition to get you and your gear, where you need to go.
The Wedgetail roof rack is a new generation roof rack combining the aesthetics and functionality of the new generation composite style assembled rack with the traditional strength and proven identity of an Australian manufacturer.
On the one hand, you get the good looks of a full Wedge-wing mount. While also having a functional and robust rack that includes aluminium construction with revolutionary Wedge-lock glass-reinforced nylon Corners.
1. Using bolts, washers and nuts, attach the wind deflector to the front of the rack to begin. Tighten the bolts with a hex key.
2. 475mm from the windscreen, make a mark on the rail where the mount will be placed.
3. Place the rail on the mark so it lines up with the bolt hole, and make a mark at the other hole on the rail.
4. Use a plastic lever to remove the rail from the roof of the car.
5. Place a mount over the marked position.
6. Use the holes of the mount to mark the roof, where the bolts will go.
7. Use a strong drill bit and drill stop to begin working through the metal.
8. Switch a smaller drill bit and apply constanct and hard pressure as the roof is very thick. Be patient and use the weight to help maintain pressure while drilling.
9. Silicone the bolt holes.
10. Place a mount over the bolt holes and silicone and put the rail cover over the mount.
11. Insert the pop rivets through the cover, mount the silicone, use a rivet tool or gun to secure the mounts.
12. Repeat the steps for all four mounts including drilling.
13. If you want to, you can cut the rail to fit the roof, making the gaps for the mounts in between.
14. Attach the rail to the mounts, using bolts and washers.
15. Tighten the bolts with a hex key.
16. Secure uni-strut nuts to the rails by hand, so they are still loose, and line them up perpendicular to the rail.
17. Lift the Wedgetail rack onto the roof, so the uni-strut nuts slot into the channels of the rack.
18. Tighten the uni-strut nuts by hand.
19. Ensure the rack is centered, the uni-strut nuts are in the channels and tighten.
20. Finish tightening with a spanner.
Your Chevrolet Silverado roof rack is installed and ready for use!
